Toni and Devin: Married!

I was so excited when Toni asked me to shoot her wedding day. I've been itching to do another wedding for a while! When I first decided to pursue photography, I said I would never do weddings. Quite honestly, it scared me to be responsible for such important memories... however, last fall when I shot my very first wedding I fell in love! Toni and Devin were sealed in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple last Friday, and what a PERFECT day. The weather was gorgeous, and they were so laid back and just plain happy! And isn't she just GORGEOUS?

I took my husband with me as my assistant. He caught these next two while I was shooting from another angle, and I just LOVED them. I think I'll take him along more often! The best part of having him come along was being able to remember our own wedding day 15 years ago.

Congrats Toni and Devin. I hope the rest of your life together is as perfect as your wedding day :)

Grandma's Farm

I've driven past it a MILLION times. Everytime, I would look at the old silo sitting there, and think "That would be such a great place for a photo shoot!" It's really only a few blocks from my home. So I was super excited when Whitney contacted me to do their family portraits, and she suggested her "Grandma's Farm," which just happened to be THE farm. The one I had been wanting to shoot at forever! It turned out to be a great place, and I think we only scratched the surface as far as backdrops to use.

They seriously have THE cutest kids. Big brother and I always have great conversations... this time he had brought his train guy - of course the train had to stay home. I also found out that we share a favorite show: Phineas and Ferb!

I LOVE her green, green eyes. Seriously, so gorgeous! And his blue eyes? No wonder their kids have such killer eyes too!

I just thought this one was so sweet.

Big brother would MUCH rather have been checking out the water at the little stream on the property, but bribery really does work sometimes. He's such a cutie!! Little sis was more than willing to sit on the chair and just look cute :)

Little Audrey

The night before this session, right in the middle of the night, I woke up to thunder. I knew we were doing these pictures outside, and that the dad in this sweet, new little family of three was leaving the next day for Iraq. This could NOT be rescheduled. I was worried. I lay in bed listening to the thunder and the rain falling outside my window. I couldn't go back to sleep!  I said a little prayer in my heart that things would clear up and that we would be able to do this session as planned. Thankfully things DID clear up! It was a little chilly, but not too bad. We did keep little sweetie's onesie on, just because I felt like a little bit of clothing was better than nothing to keep her tiny little body warm. But what an angel! We got her all comfy and she just slept and slept. I just could have snuggled her all day long!

Brand New Family Part 2!

I didn't want to stop editing these yesterday... so here are a bunch more! I still have a few left to process, including a bunch of just their sweet little baby girl, so I'll have to do another post with just her later.
It was so fun talking to these two and getting to know them a little better. Holding their tiny little one reminded me of my oldest daughter when she was born. So itty-bitty! I think their little Audrey weighed 5 lbs 10 oz, and my Eryn weighed 5 lbs 14 oz. I told them to enjoy every second of her being tiny, because you'll blink and she'll be almost 13 and nearly as tall as you!

I love this picture. He was just so sweet with her. I can only imagine how difficult it is to leave your brand new baby girl and go so far away. Take care and hurry back, Justin! And again... thank you for your service to our country.

Brand New Family

What an awesome, new little family I got to meet today! Dad is in the army, and is leaving for Iraq TOMORROW! I'm so glad we were able to get some sweet family shots before he had to pack up and leave. Their beautiful little baby girl was born just 9 days ago. Here are just a couple of images... I'll post a bunch more in a few days :) Good luck Justin (and hang in there Jessica!) I'm so grateful to have men and women like these two who are willing to sacrifice so much for our country.
